“Petate” Pin by William Spratling
The design for this sterling silver pin was inspired by the handmade traditional Mexican rugs woven from palm reeds called “Petates” and William Spratling first made the design in the mid-1940’s. This is a very faithful reproduction of the original design, made in Taxco, Mexico by silversmiths taught by Spratling. It measures about 2″ x 1 ¾” and is signed “Mexico 925”
